Daniel W. Schnarr, 81

Daniel W. Schnarr, age 81 of Boone Township passed away at 10:56 p.m. Saturday (October 29, 2011) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born November 7, 1929 in Boone Township to Edgar and Catherine (Meyer) Schnarr. He married Wilma Wening on October 20, 1955 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Daniel was a Army Korean Veteran and a retired Hog Farmer in Boone Township. After retirement he worked for CarQuest and Toy’s Auto in Jasper.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township where he held several offices and a Lifetime member of V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper . He was also a member of the Pork Producers.

He was a 4- H Leader for 18 years, and served on the Dubois County 4-H Council. He also served as Vice President of the Dubois County Farm Bureau.

• One daughter, Mrs. Randall (Marie) Patton, Jasper, IN
• One son, Dale Schnarr and spouse Teri, Dayton, OH

Grandchildren, Sara and Beth Patton and Jamie and Erik Schnarr.

Funeral services for Daniel W. Schnarr will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (November 2, 2011) in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township with burial to follow in the church cemetery. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper will conduct military grave side rites. The Rev. Catherine Burnette will officiate.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday (November 1, 2011) at the Becher & Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Food Bank or to a favorite charity.
