Damian J. McBride, 19, Birdseye

Damian J. McBride, 19, Birdseye, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016, in a house fire in Pike County alongside his Rottweiler dog, Zander.

Damian was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 28, 1997, to Karena Vonderheide and Josh McBride.

He was a graduate of Forest Park High School, where he played football. He was currently attending his second year at Vincennes University.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, the St. Anthony Conservation Club, the NRA, and ABATE. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, helping people and was a loving brother and son.

He is survived by his parents, Karena Vonderheide and Josh McBride of Birdseye; two brothers, Justus and Xavier McBride of Birdseye; paternal grandmother, Vickie McBride and husband Gary Chism of Evansville; paternal grandfather, Arthur B. McBride of Cuzco; maternal grandfather, William Vonderheide of Huntingburg; great grandfather, James D. Neukam of Huntingburg; aunts and uncles.

Preceding him in death was his grandmother, Alvina Vonderheide.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Damian McBride will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
