Cyrilla M. (Dotterwich) Schwindel, 89

Cyrilla M. (Dotterwich) Schwindel, 89, of St. Meinrad, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Cyrilla was born November 27, 1924, in Ferdinand to Jacob and Mary (Weyer) Dotterwich.

She married Edwin H. Schwindel on October 29, 1946, in St. Meinrad Catholic Church.

Edwin preceded her in death.

Cyrilla is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou Vaal and husband Gene of St. Meinrad, Mitzy Lewis and husband George of Bloomington, Brenda Braslow and husband Barry of Denver, Col.; one half-sister, Henrietta Bishoff of Louisville, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Cyrilla was preceded in death by her husband Edwin on March 29, 1996; a daughter, Kathy Spurlock; one granddaughter, Lynn Jeanette; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Leo Dotterwich; one sister, Dorothy Ebert; two half-brothers, Louis and Frank Fleck; and three half-sisters, Verona Spraggs, Josephine Boehman and Philomina Malone.

Cyrilla was a life-long farmer and homemaker. She was a member of St. Meinrad Catholic Church Parish and its Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of American Legion Post 366 Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM CDT Saturday in St. Meinrad Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2-8:00 PM CDT Friday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and from 9:00 AM CDT to time of service on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetary.
