Credit card skimmers found at two Jasper gas stations
Devices designed to steal credit card information were found at two area gas stations recently.
According to authorities, card skimming devices were found on pump #3 at the Hucks on 3rd Avenue and on pump #15 at the Hucks on Hoffman Road in Jasper.
Police believe the devices were place on the gas pumps sometime in July of this year. They were just located on Thursday.
Skimmers are placed on the machines internally or externally and through a variety of means, transmit the stolen credit card information to those involved in the criminal activity.
Any customers that used the pumps since July should remain vigilant to the security of the credit/debit cards.
The investigation is ongoing and Hucks is cooperating with the Jasper Police Department.
