Covid-19 recoveries up to 145

Over the past two days (Thursday and Friday), the Dubois County Health Department has reported five new cases of Covid-19 in the county. As of Friday, the total cases in Dubois County stands at 211.

Fortunately, 145 residents have reported they are feeling better and are out of isolation.

Three residents have succumbed to the disease.

The Dubois County Health Department reported 1,558 tests have been completed.

COVID-19 is continuing to spread in our community, the health department reported in a press release. Prevention is our strongest way to fight back against the spread of this virus to protect the health and safety of all, especially those who are most high-risk.  We want to remind our community the vital importance of practice social distancing, washing hands frequently with soap and water, staying home when feeling ill, and wearing a cloth face covering when in public.

Additionally, Friday, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced that 533 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 36,578 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

A total of 2,078 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 27 over the previous day. Another 180 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.
