County’s emergency siren testing time changes
The emergency siren system testing time has changed for every area of the county except Jasper.
According to Tammy Humbert, the emergency management director, the county-wide siren system will be tested on the first day of the month at 6 p.m. beginning May 1. Humbert said this is due to inspectors not being available at 4 p.m. to hear the sirens.
Jasper conducts their own tests and it will continue to test their alert system at 4 p.m. on the first day of the month. They also operate the TV interrupter.
This Friday will be the first day of the new schedule for the county
