Council member Scott Knies missed at the county council meeting today
A moment of silence was held today at the beginning of the Dubois County Council meeting for the loss of council member Scott Knies (D District 3). Knies took his own life on Sunday morning in Celestine.
The council discussed contributions for the Knies family. Council member Greg Kendall (D – At Large) expressed that the family did not wish to receive any contributions and suggested any contributions or donations to be made to the donor’s favorite charity or to the St. Celestine Catholic Church.
Knies has been a member of the council for over 20 years according to Jerry R. Hunefeld (R – District 4).
The empty position on the council will be filled by the Democratic Party with a caucus in Knies’ district.
