Corley’s departure from YMCA bittersweet news
The Board of Directors of the Tri-County YMCA announced the advancement of their Chief Executive Officer, Roger Corley, yesterday. Corley will be taking a position as the Community Executive Director of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis.
Corley was selected to lead multiple YMCA Centers in the Indianapolis area. He will complete his role with the Tri-County YMCA in June, exactly eight years to the day after accepting the position.
“We hate to see Roger leave,” said Pat Miller, Tri-County YMCA Board President, “but we knew this day would likely come sooner or later.” Miller went on to say that Corley’s talents, abilities, and accomplishments have not gone unnoticed by other YMCAs and the national YMCA organization.
“Honestly, we’re lucky somebody hadn’t lured him away before now – he’s just that good. This is a tremendous opportunity for Roger to advance his career. We are thankful for everything he has done for the Tri-County YMCA, and we wish him nothing but the best in his new position.”
The Executive Committee of the Tri-County YMCA has appointed Christine Kleaving to serve in the role of Interim Executive Director. Kleaving previously served in the role of Program Director and has completed the YMCA of USA executive leadership training. The Board of Directors has also established an Executive Search Committee to begin the work of filling the leadership role.
