Connie S. Mason, 68, Birdseye

Connie S. Mason, 68, Birdseye, passed away at 2:41 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2016, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born January 27, 1948, in Huntingburg to Clayton and Opal (Huff) Borden.

Connie worked at Masterbrand Cabinets for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was a member of the Birdseye Conservation Club, Birdseye Order of the Eastern Star #590 and Jasper Moose Lodge #1175.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Archie Borden and Jeff Borden.

She is survived by two children, Staci (Scott) Bolden of Birdseye and Rodney (Lori) Mason of Schnellville; her companion of 34 years, Don Schaefer of Saint Meinrad; two stepchildren, Donnie (Courtney) Schaefer of Tell City and Kristina (Kent) Jones of Tell City; 10 siblings, Donald Borden of Huntingburg, Travis Borden of Haysville, Joe Borden of Birdseye, Jake Borden of Doolittle Mills, Cendia Letterman of Jasper, Wyoma Gehlhausen of Birdseye, Diane Wiseman of Birdseye, Deb Ernst of Birdseye, Jan Leech of Birdseye and Phyllis Yates of Middleburg, Fla.; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services for Connie S. Mason will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye.  Reverend Albert Madden will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.  A vigil service will be conducted by the Birdseye Order of the Eastern Star at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, at the funeral home.
