Connie Lynn Houchin, 56

Connie Lynn Houchin, 56, of Ferdinand, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born December 27, 1958 in Princeton, Indiana, to Burl Lewis and Doris Aline (Tumey) Hedge. She married Robert Houchin on February 22, 2000.

Connie was employed at Farbest Foods. She loved gardening and photography.

She was preceded in death by her father, Burl Hedge; her stepmother, Anna Uppencamp; her adopted father, Henry Uppencamp; and one brother, Paul Monroe.

Connie is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Houchin of Ferdinand; one son, Clarence Michael Uppencamp, Jr. of Jasper; her mother, Doris Hedge of Dennison, Ill.; seven sisters, Christine Messmer of Birdseye, Sharon Montgomery of Winslow, Debbie Mendel of Jasper, Bridgette Hamm of Evansville, Sue Arnold of Dale, Nancy Graham of Evansville, and Kimberly Hedge of Tennessee; four brothers, Gary (Linda) Uppencamp of Gentryville, Henry “Butch” (Kelly) Uppencamp of Ferdinand, Tim Hedge of Tennessee, and Terry Hedge of Tennessee; one grandson, two granddaughters, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Connie Houchin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.  Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, the day of the service.
