Community Foundation awards $100,000 to A Kid’s Place

Huntingburg–Dubois County Community Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to A Kid’s Place to support workforce sustainability efforts.

The investment will help retain and support the dedicated staff who provide high-quality care and early learning opportunities for local children.

A Kid’s Place is a nonprofit, NAEYC-accredited childcare center in Huntingburg serving infants through preschool-aged children. The organization plays an important role in providing families with access to high-quality early childhood education and care.

“High-quality early childhood experiences begin with dedicated and talented educators,” said Deanna Vonderheide, Director of A Kid’s Place. “This investment helps us support the staff who make a difference in the lives of children every day and strengthens our ability to serve local families.”

The grant aligns with the Community Foundation’s Early Care & Education initiative, a strategic effort focused on expanding access to high-quality, affordable early education throughout Dubois County.

This funding was made possible in partnership with Smart Start, an initiative to improve early childhood education access, affordability, and quality in 10 counties in the Indiana Uplands region.

A Kid’s Place is one of several local providers working to increase access to quality early learning opportunities and support children’s development during their most critical years.
