Community Christmas Tree, more launches Christmas Season in Jasper

The community Christmas Tree now welcomes visitors to the Square from Sixth Street, the Patoka River Bridge is decorated, and the decorative lightpoles around Downtown Jasper have been adorned with wreaths.

On Friday, the annual meet-and-greet with Santa and the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree will be held.

It really is looking a lot like Christmas around town.

These decorations are made possible by donations from many people and businesses.

Ivan (Tim) and Brenda Clark of Jasper donated this year’s Community Christmas Tree.

The additional lights on the tree and the planters on the Patoka River bridge were financed by Patoka 2000, a committee of the Jasper Chamber. Contributions were received by individuals in the community in memory of loved ones or in honor of special occasions.

We captured this on November 10.

Over 130 decorative wreaths have been placed throughout downtown as part of a multi-year project by Redevelop Old Jasper Action Coalition (ROJAC) and the many ROJAC members who contributed to or donated these updated holiday decorations.

The numerous planters in the downtown area were decorated by several Heart of Jasper volunteers.

Jasper Electric Department employees Casey Hall and Alex Huther worked together to install the light strands on the Community Christmas Tree on Monday afternoon.

The City Electric Department did an outstanding job again this year of installing all of the lights, wreaths and the community Christmas tree. They were also responsible for designing, making and placing the star at the top of the main tree.

Through all of these efforts, the City of Jasper will have a bright and festive look throughout the entire holiday season of 2025.
