Comic book collector’s lifetime collection on display at Ferdinand Library

The Ferdinand Library has been loaned an amazing Comic Book Collection from James Alexander.  It is on display in their Lobby for everyone to see.

“I had a paper route when I was 11 years old. My $1 earnings could buy a lot of comic books back then,” Mr. Alexander said.

In his lifetime, he has amassed more than 7,500 comics.

Some that are included in the display include small comics from the 1930s. There are many genres, from Conan to Disney to GI Joes to Green Arrow to Marvel to Thor, etc. One copy of a Star Trek comic includes a 45-record that will read the comic aloud to you. Also included are some comic trading cards and issues from other countries.

The Ferdinand Library is open M-TH from 9-8 and F-S from 9-5. Contact the Library at 812.367.1671 or check out their website (www.jdcpl.us) or Facebook Page for further information.
