Collins Law Group opens office in Jasper
Attorney John Collins has opened a new office, Collins Law Group, LLC, on Jasper’s north side.

Collins has been practicing law for 19 years and recently started his private practice specializing in trusts and estates, elder law, real estate and business law. Through his practice, he spends the majority of his time guiding his clients through the many legal aspects of their lives. Whether it is helping people use the law to protect assets and wealth or helping them handle their estates, adoptions, marriages, divorces or future planning for businesses, real estate and other assets, Collins has had experience in most of his clients’ needs.
“I enjoy my work because it allows me to help people and businesses plan for some of life’s biggest events and solve some of life’s most important challenges,” Collins explained. “Usually, the work I do has a long-lasting impact on my clients, their families and their employees; for years into the future. That gives my work a lot of meaning and satisfaction.”
Collins grew up in the Newburgh area and after graduating from Castle in 1992, attended Indiana State University where he attained a bachelor’s in criminology before completing his law degree at Valparaiso University in 1999.
He is licensed to practice law in both Indiana and Illinois. In 2013, he passed an advanced law exam and became a board-certified Indiana trust and estate lawyer, as certified by the Trust and Estate Specialty Board of the Indiana State Bar Association.
Collins’ new office is located across from the Walmart on Jasper’s north side, at 225 W. 41st Street, Suite B. He also maintains an Evansville office located on the east side at 7201 E. Virginia Street, Suite B. He generally sees clients by appointment only but the Jasper office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and Fridays. Thursdays he usually travels to meet with clients.
“I started my own law firm so that I could manage and control every aspect of my office operations, my work and my interaction with my clients,” Collins explained “With my own firm, I do not have to answer to out-of-town law partners or anyone else about how I engage with and serve my clients. I am free to make business decisions I believe best serve my clients’ needs and goals.”
Collins Law Group, LLC can be contacted for appointments at 812-556-0110.
Collins and his wife, Nicole, and their three children — Ava, 16, Jack, 12, and Graham, 8 — have lived in Jasper for the past 14 years.
“Ava is a JHS varsity cheerleader, and both of our boys are active in sports like football, basketball and baseball,” Collins said. “We enjoy the family-oriented and business-focused environment Jasper provides.”
