Clements P. Jochim, age 87, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 10:36 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

He was born February 8, 1927 in Mariah Hill, Indiana to Anton and Wilhelmina (Horlander) Jochim.

He married Betty Jane Sternberg on December 3, 1978 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

Clements retired from Dolly Madison Furniture and also worked as a bartender at Fleig’s in Ferdinand. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Ferdinand American Legion Post #124.

He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Carol J. (Roos) Jochim, who passed away on July 11, 1973; one sister, Sr. Florine Jochim O.S.B.; and two brothers, Raymond Jochim and Oliver Jochim.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Jochim of Huntingburg; one daughter, Jane A. Jochim of Ferdinand; brother-in-law, Edwin Sternberg, Jr. of Huntingburg; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Brett) Greulich of Ferdinand; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Clements P. Jochim will be held at 10:00 a.m., EST, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Huntingburg). The Ferdinand American Legion Post #124 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2-8 p.m., on Tuesday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made out to the American Cancer Society.
