Claude P. Gogel, 87

Claude P. Gogel, 87, of Mariah Hill, passed away Saturday April 13th at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.
He was born December 26th, 1925, in Mariah Hill to Albert Sr. and Blanche (Hollander) Gogel. Claude married Aline Oeding on September 16th,1950, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.
He worked in construction, masonry and farming. Claude was a World War II Veteran who served with the 243rd Port Co. Transportation Corp at Yokahoma Japan for 12 months. He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Mariah Hill and the Jasper VFW. His hobbies included gardening and fishing.
Claude is survived by his wife Aline; three sons, David Gogel of Mariah Hill, Daniel Gogel and his wife Lori of Mariah Hill and Kevin Gogel and his wife Missy of Indianapolis; three daughters, Karen Boeglin and her husband Leroy of Bretsville, Mary Gogel of Mariah Hill and Kristine Eckert and her husband Steve of St. Henry; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Gogel Jr. of Mariah Hill and one sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Wiederkehr of St. Meinrad.
Claude was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael; seven brothers- Elmer, Ralph, Chester, Kenneth, Robert, Othmar and Orville Gogel; 3 sisters, Marcella Graman, Julietta Burger and Ramona Gogel.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. CDT in Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Mariah Hill with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
