Clarence W. Hildenbrand, 86

Clarence W. Hildenbrand, 86, of Fulda, passed away Monday August 19, 2013 at Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand.

He was born November 28,1926 in Fulda to August and Ida (Weaver) Hildenbrand. He married Edna M. Konerding on August 16,1952 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Fulda. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1997.

Clarence was a rural mail carrier for 24 years & farmer. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish and its Men’s Sodality, and was a past member of the parish council. He was a WWII veteran and a member of St. Meinrad Legion Post 366. He was a member of the Letter carriers Association and received numerous awards for his conservation of the land. Clarence was a member & past board member of the Fulda Sportsman Club. He was a past member of the Fulda Development Board.

Surviving are three sons, Mark Hildenbrand and wife Peggy of Evanston, David Hildenbrand and wife Angela of Jasper, and Louis Hildenbrand and wife Kelly of Ferdinand; three daughters, Donna Kniese & husband Norman “Skip” of Evansville, Trudy Hagedorn & husband Greg of Santa Claus, & Nancy Badger & husband Michael of Chrisney; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Hildenbrand and two sisters, Agnes Nurrenburn and Lorine Nurrenburn.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT Thursday in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda. Burial with military graveside rites by St. Meinrad Legion Post 366 in the church cemetery.
