Clarence R. “Brownie” Brown, age 84 of Jasper, passed away at 6:45 a.m., Thursday (December 20,2012) at home.

Brownie was born on June 25, 1928 in Huntingburg, IN to Frank and Florence (Brinkmeyer) Brown. He married Betty Peak on April 8, 1948 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, IN.

He was an Army veteran who served in Korea. He owned and operated Brownie’s Antenna Service for many years. He also worked as a financial loan manager for Avco Finance Company, and also worked at the Television Center in Jasper.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, the VFW Post #673, the American Legion Post #147, and the UHL Society.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his children and grandkids.

One sister, Clarice Preslopsky, Orlando, FL

Preceding Clarence in death is one sister – Kathleen Brown, and 6 brothers – Eugene, Wilmore, Marvin, Kenneth, Lionel, and Franklin Brown.

Funeral services for Clarence Brown will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (December 24, 2012) at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper IN, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. The Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday (December 23, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, or the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center in memory of Clarence Brown.
