Clarence “Pete” Schneider, 92, St. Anthony

Clarence “Pete” Schneider, 92, of St. Anthony, passed away Wednesday at 12:05, March 23, 2016 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was born on September 27, 1923 at Ferdinand, Indiana to Andrew and Clella (Worman) Schneider. He married Ardella Persohn on July 21, 1943 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. They were married for 72 years.
Clarence was a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving overseas. He was a retired Teamster’s truck driver and farmer.
He is a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Huntingburg V.F.W. Post # 2366, Jasper German Club and the St. Anthony Senior Citizens.
He enjoyed family and grandchildren, friends and driving around the country.
He is survived by his wife, Ardella Schneider; daughters, Sharon Terry and husband Tony of Silverville, Ind. and Mary Ann Eckstein of Huntingburg; sons, Randy Schneider and wife Gwendolyn of Kyana, Lonnie Schneider and wife Cheryl of Ferdinand and Myron Schneider and wife Angie of Shelbyville, Ky.; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Preceding him in death is one daughter, Diana Schneider and two son, Allen Schneider and Don Schneider. Also one brother Orville Schneider and four sisters, Grace Brosmer and Helen Schneider, Bertha Steczyk and Anna Rose Hieichelbech.
Funeral services for Clarence Schneider will be held at 10:00 Monday, March 28, 2016, in
St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. St. Anthony American Legion Post #493 will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church. Rosary will at 1:45 p.m. Sunday members of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
