Clarence J. Mullis, 85, of Ferdinand, passed away peacefully Monday, September 21, 2020, at The Timbers of Jasper.

Clarence was born November 4, 1934, in Akron, Ohio to William J. & Emma (Weyer) Mullis.
Clarence was a lifelong member of Saint Ferdinand Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1964 at Fort Sam Houston in Texas. He was a member of Ferdinand Legion Post 124. Clarence retired from D.M.I. Furniture after many years.
After retirement, he worked as a gatehouse attendant at Ferdinand State Forest. Clarence’s passion was leading the Ferdinand Boy Scouts Troop 186 as Scoutmaster for many years. He was an avid reader, and computer enthusiast. Clarence enjoyed crafts, Boy Scout projects, and his trips to Philmont. But his favorite thing was sitting outside observing the seasons and watching wildlife.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Ralph Mullis, and a niece Jennifer Mullis.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Burial with military graveside services by Ferdinand Legion Post 124 following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
