Clara L. Rhoades, 69, Jasper

Clara L. Rhoades, 69, of Jasper, passed away at 3:57 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Sentara Nursing & Hospice Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

She was born on September 10, 1946, to John W. and Dorothea (Martindale) Patterson. She married James Rhoades February 15, 1969, at Naval Air Station in Willow Grove, Penn.

Clara was a homemaker and member of the Grace Community Church in Jasper.

She enjoyed the Outer Banks watching dolphins, was an avid bowler and her Bible study was very dear to her.

She is survived by her husband James H. Rhoades; daughter, Kristina Jones of Virginia Beach, Va.; brother, James Patterson and his wife Shelley of Jasper; two grandchildren, Adam & Kyle.

Funeral services for Clara Rhoades will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Neely will officiate.

Friends may call from 11:00 am until the 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
