Clara F. Schnieders, 95

Clara F. Schnieders, 95, of Ferdinand, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Clara was born, January 1, 1920 in Ferdinand to Edward and Mary (Heilers) Altmeyer. She married Ralph Schnieders on May 2, of 1946 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. He passed away on January 6, 1953.

Clara was a factory worker at Aristocraft and Ferdinand Furniture. She also cleaned offices at OFS. Clara was a member of St. Ferdinand Church Parish. She enjoyed praying the rosary during long walks.

Clara is survived by four daughters; Mary Rasche and husband Jim of Jasper, Jane Potter of Ferdinand, Lori Schnieders of Ferdinand, Ruth Selzer and husband Allen of Chrisney; one son, Ralph (Buck) Schnieders of Ferdinand; one sister, Evelyn Brockman of Ferdinand; seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kay in infancy; two sisters, Agnes Schnieders and Margaret Spayd; one granddaughter, Emily Selzer.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
