Attendees at the Future Summit will participate in several activities designed to gather community input. The agenda includes a map exercise where participants can provide location-specific feedback and learn about the Strategic Pillars developed during the visioning phase.
The summit also features stations where community members can submit “Bold Action Ideas” and sign up for Strategic Pillar Task Forces to help implement the comprehensive plan.
Strategic Pillars emerged from this community input, providing focused areas for implementation efforts. The Future Summit will reveal these pillars and explain how they will guide the city’s development decisions moving forward.
Task Forces associated with each Strategic Pillar will allow community members to remain involved in the planning process beyond the summit. These groups will develop specific implementation strategies and help ensure that community priorities remain central to the planning effort.
The comprehensive planning project represents a significant community engagement effort for Jasper. The visioning phase involved gathering input from residents on their priorities and goals for the city’s future development and reflects the city’s commitment to community-driven decision-making. By engaging residents throughout the planning process, the city aims to ensure its comprehensive plan reflects actual community priorities rather than assumptions about what residents want.
Community members interested in shaping Jasper’s future can participate in either or both December events. The Community Vision Presentation provides an overview of findings, while the Future Summit offers hands-on opportunities to influence implementation planning.
