City of Huntingburg drivers finish in annual competition’s top 10

Judy Fitch and Suzanne Patberg finished in the top 10 in a the 23rd annual Transportation ROADEO.

Huntingburg — Two Huntingburg Transit drivers, Judy Fitch and Suzanne Patberg, recently competed in the Indiana Council on Specialized Transportation (INCOST)’s 23rd annual Transportation ROADEO.

Fitch finished 9th and Patberg finished 5th. Twenty transit drivers from across Indiana participated in the day-long competition held on Saturday, April 12, 2014.

During the ROADEO, drivers are judged on driving skills, passenger assistance techniques, safety inspection completion, and written test scores. This was both Fitch and Patberg’s first time participating in the competition.

The Indiana Council on Specialized Transportation (INCOST), a non-profit organization composed of transportation professionals, works to promote safe and efficient transportation services.

The Huntingburg Transit runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $1 one-way and $2 for a round trip. The transit system provides rides for all ages throughout Huntingburg. To schedule a ride, please call City Hall at 683-2211.
