City and school set to transfer properties
As part of a project to update the Southwest Dubois School Corporation office, the Huntingburg Common Council agreed to swap properties with the corporation at their Tuesday meeting.
The city owns a parcel on the northeast corner of Southridge High School adjacent to U.S. 231 and Sunset Drive. The school corporation would like move out of the Maple Park Elementary School building to build a new office on that property.
Here is a story on those updates at the school corporation.
With the approval, the parcel owned by the electric utility will transfer to the school corporation.
As part of the transfer, the council began the process for appropriating $130,400 — paid in quarterly payments — to the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation. Final approval on the appropriation will occur after a public hearing is held at the next council meeting on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at City Hall.
