Christine A. Lechner, 69, Evansville

Christine Ann Lechner, 69, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 6, 2024.

She was born on March 5, 1955, to Robert and Jacqueline (Shackelford) Hartman in Evansville, Indiana.

Chris was a graduate of Memorial High School, and continued her education at the University of Evansville, where she also dedicated many years of her professional life.

Chris had a passion for crafting and painting, especially in her early years. Her artistic talents extended to drawing and sewing. She was an exceptional seamstress, capable of creating her own clothing and teaching her daughters the art of sewing.

Above all, Chris was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother. Her greatest joy and purpose in life was to be a mom, a role she embraced and fulfilled with unwavering love and dedication.

Chris is survived by her husband of 43 years, Thomas Lechner; daughters, Carime Lechner and Rachel Lechner Rauch (Nick); father, Robert Hartman; grandsons, Luca Jesse and Andrew Thomas; siblings, Tom Hartman (Debbie), Nancy Bernardin, Julie Jackson (Rob); her beloved cat, Danny Boy; and numerous extended family.

Chris was preceded in death by her son Jesse Thomas Lechner and mother Jacqueline Hartman.

There will be a visitation at St. Clement Catholic Church (422 E. Sycamore St. Boonville, IN 47601) this Friday, June 14, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a mass to follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, plant a tree in honor of Chris.
