Chris “Gimp” Hartley, 40, of Jasper, passed away at 6:51 a.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.

He was born December 16, 1974 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Cleneath “Sunny” and Kathy (Montgomery) Hartley.  Chris worked as a mechanic and was a member of the Winslow Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Sons of the American Legion in Oakland City.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Denzil Hartley, Robert Hartley, Shelby Hartley, Audrey Uppencamp and John Uppencamp; and nephew, Jaden Hartley.

He is survived by his parents, Cleneath “Sunny” and Kathy Hartley of Petersburg; two daughters and one son, Keri Hartley, Julia Trevino and Sabastain Trevino, all of Jasper; three brothers and one sister, Toby (Joanella) Hartley of Birdseye, Nathan (Cassie) Hartley of Princeton, Kyle Hartley of Vincennes, and Candy (Phillip) Reibold of Petersburg; his companion, Marci Trevino of Jasper; by four grandchildren, Sophia Hartley, Rihanna Carpenter, Rachel Carpenter and Rodney Trevino, all of Jasper; and 19 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Chris Hartley will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg followed by cremation and interment at a later date.  Pastor Mark Davis will officiate at the funeral.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, the day of the service.  Condolences may be shared with the family online at  www.nassandson.com.
