Cheryl Jean Zehr, 61

Cheryl Jean Zehr, 61, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Cheryl was born in Jasper, Indiana on August 16, 1952 to Raleigh and Mildred (Keller) Zehr.

Cheryl worked as a housekeeper at St. Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg for over 30 years, and then continued housekeeping at the Waters of Huntingburg.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township and the St. John’s WELCA.

She enjoyed doing puzzle books, completing jigsaw puzzles, traveling, and playing cards, especially Rum.

She is survived by one sister, Diann Zehr of Jasper; one brother, Larry Zehr, and his wife Carol, of Otwell; one niece, Rhonda Ahrens; three great-nieces, Jackie Schmitt, Alicia Nash, and Jessica Ahrens; one great great-niece, Rylan Sue Schmitt; one great great-nephew, Treyton Schmitt.

Preceding her in death are one brother, Mark Allen Zehr, who died in infancy, and one nephew Ryan Ahrens.

Funeral services for Cheryl Jean Zehr will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church.
