Cheryl A. (Hillhouse) Walters, 67

Cheryl A. (Hillhouse) Walters, 67, of Holland, Indiana, was allowed to go to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 25, 2015.

She was born March 17, 1947 in Springfield, Missouri, to the late Rev. Etshel and Wilma Hillhouse

She was a graduate of Boonville, Indiana, High School Class of 1965 and was their homecoming queen that year. She worked as a former cafeteria manager at Tecumseh Junior/Senior High School in Lynnville when she returned to this area after having lived in five other states and the country of Belgium. Her love of Jesus was obvious to all who knew her and she is remembered by many for her beautiful singing of gospel songs and her bible teaching.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 47 years, James L. “Jimm” Walters of Holland; one son and daughter-in-law, Sean G. (Angie) Walters of New Castle, Penn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Tamara (Kevin) Lubbehusen of Holland; one brother and sister-in-law, Darrell (Dee Ann) Hillhouse of Princeton; four sisters and two brother-in-laws, Carol (Ray) Bunner of Lynnville, Sandra (Ron) Lowry of Fairfield, Ill., Brenda Snyders of Evansville,and Estelene Liggett of Newburgh; five grandchildren, Brooke, Ethan and Hailey Lubbehusen of Holland and Seth (wife, Taylor) and Zach Walters of New Castle, Penn.; one great grandson, Kamron Lubbehusen of Ferdinand.

Funeral services for Cheryl A. Walters will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  Pastor Rick Ballard will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday; and also from noon to 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, prior to the funeral.  The family would like to thank the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice, especially Shawnee and Anna, for their love and care during the time of Cheryl’s illness.
