Charmaine J. Verkamp, 84
Charmaine J. Verkamp, age 84 of Jasper passed away at 2:55 a.m. today (Saturday, September 22, 2012) in the Delmar Gardens Health Care at Meramec Valley, Missouri.
She was born at Dale, Indiana on April 23, 1928 to Raymond and Mary Elizabeth (Schum) Herr. She had two marriages; first to James Schneider for 36 years and her second marriage to Robert L. Verkamp for 14 years.
Charmaine was a graduate of Dale High School. Besides being a Mother and homemaker she worked as a seamstress.
She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Society.

Three stepsons,
- Tony Verkamp and spouse Shelly, Colorado Springs, CO
- John Verkamp and spouse Lori, Jasper, IN
- Mike Verkamp and spouse Shelly, Franklin, IN
Four grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Two brothers,
- Robert Herr, Dale, IN
- William Herr, SC
Also preceding her in death is one brother Michael Shrainer.
Funeral services for Charmaine Verkamp will be held at 10:00 a.m.at St Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Wednesday (September 26, 2012) with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday (September 25, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Rosary will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday by the St. Ann’s Society.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the American Cancer Society.
