Charles Tony Harrell, 80, Madison

Charles Tony Harrell, 80, of Madison, Ind., died Sunday, May 8, 2022, at his home in downtown Madison.

He was born on Oct. 9, 1941, in Madison, to Charles R. Bernard and Sarah Elizabeth Jacoby Harrell.

He attended Madison High School and received his GED. He retired from Madison Electronics in Versailles, Indiana, after 10 years as production manager. He had previously worked at Kimball International in Jasper, Indiana, for 15 years as plant manager.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in downtown Madison and the French Lick Lions Club. He enjoyed boating and being with his family at Hanover Beach, playing golf and enjoyed all sports.

Survivors include his companion, Ellen Eckert of Madison; a son, Jonathan Brent Harrell of Indianapolis; and five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Eric Harrell, on May 13, 2021; his brothers, Donald Harrell, on Sept. 20, 1951, Richard Kendall Harrell Sr. on March 25, 1983, Everett T. Harrell, on Dec. 18, 1985, Kenneth Joe Harrell, on Sept. 11, 1997 and Billy D. Harrell, on April 30, 2008.

Visitation is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Private interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Madison.
