Charles M. Ragle, 85, Otwell

Charles M. Ragle, 85, of Otwell, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

He was born November 10, 1930, in Spurgeon, Ind., to Otto and Minnie (McGregor) Ragle. He was a graduate of Ireland High School and was united in marriage to Viola M. Henze on March 5, 1955, at the Velpen General Baptist Church in Velpen.

Charles worked as a warehouse shipping and receiving employee for Krodel Wholesale.  He was a member of the Velpen General Baptist Church, where he was a church deacon for 64 years.  Charles served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola M. Ragle, who passed away June 28, 2015; one sister, Ellen Hauser; and one granddaughter, Laura Leann Culp.

He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Doris Ann Ragle of Evansville and Martha (Jeff) Culp of Seymour; one sister, Gladys Sherman of Indianapolis; and two grandsons, Brian (Maggie) Culp of Chicago and Kyle (Makayla) Culp of Indianapolis.

Funeral services for Charles M. Ragle will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen.  The Reverend Lowell Thomas will officiate at the funeral. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and also from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to Gentiva Hospice or The Laura Culp Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Jackson County Foundation, 107 Community Drive, Seymour, IN 47274.
