Charles L. “Chuck” Meyer, 59, Jasper

Charles L. “Chuck” Meyer, 59, of Jasper, passed away at 8:18 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Chuck was born in Jasper, Indiana, on August 10, 1956 to Louis and Olivia (Oser) Meyer. He married Cynthia K. Wehr March 21, 1981 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, Indiana.

He was a 1974 graduate of Jasper High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Wounded Veterans of Dubois County. Chuck worked at Jasper Engines and Transmissions for almost 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, and the American Legion Post #147. He was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia K. Meyer of Jasper; one son, Andrew Meyer and his wife Lindsey of Greenwood, Ind.; two grandchildren, Noah and Rylie Meyer, both at home in Greenwood; mother, Olivia Meyer of Jasper; one sister, Lois Recker and her husband Mark of Dubois; two brothers, Kenny “Tex” Meyer and his wife Connie of Jasper; Steven Meyer and his wife Barbara of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Preceding him in death are his father Louis Meyer and his brother William “Bill” Meyer.

Funeral services for Charles “Chuck” L. Meyer will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Huntingburg, Indiana. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
