Charles John Lindauer, age 91, of Dale, Indiana, passed away at 10:41 a.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at his daughter’s residence in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

He was born December 14, 1920 in Dale, Indiana to John and Laura (Geisslman) Lindauer. He married Leola M. Meyer in September of 1961 in Huntingburg. Mr. Lindauer was a retired dairy farmer. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and was a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau, the Dairyman Association and the Southern Indiana Holstein Association. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Leola M. Lindauer, who passed away March 14, 1975; two brothers & two sister-in-laws – Albert (Dorothy) Lindauer and Ed (Verna) Lindauer; and two sisters & two brother-in-laws – Lauretta (Bill) Kramer, Agnes Jeffcott, and (brother-in-law, Jerome Heichelbech).

He is survived by:

One daughter and one son-in-law,

  • Suzanne (Terry) Carney – Elizabethtown, KY

One son and one daughter-in-law,

  • Jerry (Diane) Lindauer – Loogootee, IN

One sister,

  • Esther Heichelbech – Selvin, IN

One brother-in-law,

  • Joe Jeffcott – Cincinnati, OH

by (4) grandchildren and (3) great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Charles Lindauer will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Holland. Rev. Mark O’Keefe, OSB will officiate the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday; and also one hour prior to the funeral on Monday. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hosparus of Central Kentucky, The Cancer Fund of America or to a favorite charity.
