Charles Edward Weitkamp, 72

Charles Edward Weitkamp, age 72, of Evansville, formerly of Lynnville, Ind., passed away at 4:02 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at his residence in Evansville.
He was born February 19, 1941 at home in the Zoar Community to Floyd and Hilda (Sollman) Weitkamp.
He married Linda L. Mason on August 22, 1981 at the Zoar United Methodist Church.
Mr. Weitkamp retired from Alcoa where he was a slitter operator. He was an active member of the Lynnville Lion’s Club, attended Zoar United Methodist Church, and was an avid mushroom hunter and IU sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two sisters, Margaret Joyce Hagemeyer and Anna Mae Weitkamp; and one brother who died in infancy, Paul Ray Weitkamp.
He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Weitkamp of Evansville; two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Dennis (Candee) Weitkamp of Winslow, and Kerry (Paula) Weitkamp of Selvin; one stepdaughter, Kelli Purdue of Newburgh; one stepson, Mathew Young of Dale; two brothers, Richard Weitkamp of Winslow and Keith Weitkamp of Spurgeon; one sister, Kathleen Weitkamp of Enos Corner, Ind.; by four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Charles Edward Weitkamp will be held at 2:00 p.m., EST, on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Spurgeon Cemetery in Spurgeon, Indiana. The Reverend Honna Schloss will officiate at the services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., EST, on Monday, the day of the funeral.
