Charles Edward Sherman, 57

Charles Edward Sherman, age 57, of Madison, Indiana, passed away at 8:45 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.
Charlie was born May 25, 1956 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Herman and Josephine (Lindauer) Sherman.
On January 9, 1967, at the age of nine, he became a resident of Muscatatuck Developmental Training Center in Butlerville, Indiana until its closing in 2003.
Charlie moved to his new home in Madison, Indiana, in February of 2004 under the care of Indiana Mentors of Seymour. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and three brothers, Leo Sherman of Gentryville, and twins James and Joseph Sherman who died at birth.
Charles is survived by six brothers, Felix Sherman of Ferdinand, William “Bill” Sherman of Huntingburg, Eugene Sherman of Huntingburg, Oscar Sherman of Huntingburg, Ignatius “Nick” Sherman of Huntingburg, and Herman “Junior” Sherman of Gentryville; four sisters, Mary E. (George) Jochum of Ferdinand, Elizabeth “Bette” (Charles) Beren of Dale, Cecilia B. (Melvin) Betz of Celestine, and Suzanne “Susie” (David) Schipp of Huntingburg; by 21 nephews and 11 nieces, 13 great nephews and 27 great nieces, four great-great nieces and four great-great nephews, one stepnephew, one stepniece, two step great-nephews, and three step great nieces.
Funeral services for Charles Sherman will be held at 10:30 a.m., EST, on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Huntingburg).
Visitation for the immediate families will be held at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 8:00-10:00 a.m., Tuesday morning, along with a 9:00 a.m. rosary prayer service. Condolences may be shared on-line at www.nassandson.com.
