Charles “Chuck” Cravens, 62, Tell City

Charles “Chuck” Cravens, 62, of Tell City, Ind., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026.

Born in Tell City, Chuck was the son of the late Earl “Lefty” and Shirley (Harris) Cravens.

He was also preceded in death by his infant brother, Stuart Cravens, and a sister-in-law, Allyson Cravens.

Chuck was a graduate of Tell City High School and attended Indiana State University, where he majored in education. He spent more than 30 years as a logistics coordinator at Versteel in Jasper, Ind. Chuck truly loved what he did and looked forward to going to work each day. He took great pride in his career and valued the friendships he made throughout the years.

Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, playing board games and computer games, and was a devoted fan of Indiana University athletics. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his loyalty to those he loved, and the joy he found in sharing time with family and friends.

Chuck is survived by his siblings, Chris (Annette) Cravens of Belleville, Ill., Pamela (Larry) of Tell City, Ind., and Doug Cravens of Troy, Ind.; his niece, Amanda; his nephews, C.J. (Lauren) Cravens, Steven (Alli), John, Michael (Sheena), and Trenton Dowland, Jake Cravens, and Kyle (Elaina) Cravens; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Jack Masterson will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Troy, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 3 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, and again from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
