Charges pending in crash that totaled two vehicles

Deputies say charges are pending in a crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon on State Road 145.

According to authorities, they were called to a two-vehicle crash about 150 feet north of Borden Hill Road on State Road 145 at about 3:43 p.m.

Details of the investigation are not being released but deputies did say that a 2003 Ford Focus driven by Ricky L. Phipps of Universal Road, Magnet, Ind.,Char and a 1991 Ford Ranger driven by Mark A Grigsby of McClure Road, Leavenworth, were involved. Grigsby’s truck ended up off the road and rolled over onto its top.

Deputies also said Grigsby complained of pain to his shoulder and Phipps injuries are unknown but both declined to be taken to the hospital.

Both vehicles were considered a total loss.

Charges are expected as the investigation is completed.

Deputies were assisted by Birdseye First Responders, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services, Indiana Conservation Officers and Berg’s Wrecker service.
