Chance Schenetzke, 30, of Country Club Road in Wilmington, Vermont, died on September 27, at his home.

He was born on September 17th, 1984 in Connersville, Indiana, to Lorraine and R. Gregory Schenetzke.

He was an avid outdoorsman with a love of animals who attended Whitingham High School in Vermont. He joined the US Army in 2002 and served in Afghanistan, where he was specialist in unit 2-22 Charlie Company. He was currently assigned to Delta Company 3/172 Mounted Mountain Infantry 86th Brigade in Vermont.

He was preceded in death by his father, R. Gregory Schenetzke, his uncle James (Grassy) Helming, and his maternal grandmother, Geraldine Daugherty.

He is survived by his daughter, Kaydence Marie Schenetzke of Keene, N.H.; his mother, Lorraine Long of Beverly Hills, Fla.; his sisters, Breann Campbell of Huntingburg and Schauna Uebelhor of Jasper; his brother, Joe Schenetzke of Mertztown, Penn.; his aunt Amy Schenetzke of Jasper; his uncle Robert Helming of Evansville; cousins Jeremy Helming of Keene, N.H., and Dawn Smith, of Miamisburg, Ohio; his maternal grandfather, Robert Long, of Homosassa, Fla. and his paternal grandparents Rob and Nancy Schenetzke of Huntingburg; as well as many other cousins and friends.

Covey, Allen & Shea Funeral Home in Wilmington, Vt., is in charge of arrangements.
