Celebrate National Trails Day – Hike & Learn Event June 6th
Join the Patoka Lake Watershed Steering Committee and their partners for a Hike & Learn event on June 6th in celebration of National Trails Day. This free event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon EDT at Jasper Farmers Market, located at 100 Third Ave, Jasper. Stop by anytime in the morning for activity booths and giveaways for all ages, centered on water quality and forest health.
Join us for two guided nature hikes along the paved Riverwalk. At 8:30 is “Riverwalk Ramble” with Carla Striegel-Winner, Dubois County Solid Waste Management District, and at 9:30 for a “Plant Identification Walk” with Marion Mason, Hoosier National Forest. All hike attendees receive a free prize and get entered into a drawing for a $50 state park gift card to be given away that day! Those interested in attending the guided nature hikes along the paved riverwalk trail meet at our booth location within the market. We look forward to seeing you all!
