Cecilia M. “C. Mae” Ploetner, 93, Jasper
Cecilia M. “C. Mae” Ploetner, 93 of Jasper, passed away at 8:03 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

C. Mae was born in Jasper, Indiana on May 1, 1924 to Henry and Cecilia (Reyling) Kress. She married Dr. Edward Ploetner on May 16, 1946 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2004.
She was a 1942 graduate of the Ferdinand Academy of Immaculate Conception, and continued her education at the Nazareth School of Nursing in Louisville, KY.
C. Mae worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Louisville, Ky. in her earlier years, and then was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and their St. Ann’s Society. She was also a member of the Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing bridge and bingo, she also enjoyed visiting the casino and was an accomplished seamstress for family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Kaye Corrigan (Thomas) of Glenview, Ill., and Margaret “Peggy” C. Christian (Larry) of Gainsville, Fla.: three sons, Edward Ploetner Jr. (Alane) of Schnellville, Robert Ploetner (Cheryl) of Jasper and John Ploetner (Jeanna) of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Catherine Corrigan, Emily Corrigan Paolella, Susan Corrigan DeLucio, Erich Christian, Mandy Ploetner Schnaus, Brandy Ploetner and Michael Ploetner; four great grandchildren, Kaylee and Shannon Paolella, and Lily and James DeLucio, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death beside her husband was one brother, Robert “Bobby” Kress, and four sisters, Viola Kress, Hilda Cockerel, Mildred Parker, and Dorothy Horney.
A Mass of Christian burial for Cecilia M. “C. Mae” Ploetner will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
