Cecelia F. Miller, 86

Cecelia F. Miller, age 86, of Ireland, Indiana passed away at 4:35 a.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Cecelia was born in Celestine, Indiana on October 18, 1927 to Nick and Katherine (Spellmeyer) Mehringer. She married Sylvester L. Miller on April 15, 1947 in St. Celestine Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1994.

Cecelia was a homemaker, and helped on the farm. She also had worked at the Schnitzelbank.

She was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and the St. Ann’s Society.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by seven daughters, Joan Chappell, of Ferdinand, Martha Kitterman, of Birdseye, Margaret Colvin, and her husband, Dave, of Montgomery, Ind., Sue Seger, and her husband, Glenn, of Otwell, Linda Johnson, and her husband, Steadman, French Lick, Shelia Colvin, and her husband, Neil, of Jasper, and Janice Betz, and her husband, Hilbert, Schnellville; two sons, John Miller, and his wife, Barb, and Dan Miller, and his wife, Linda, all of Jasper; 27 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 10 great-step-grandchildren, six great-great-step-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are two grandchildren, Janie and Brian Kitterman, and one great granddaughter, Kara Kitterman, and one brother, Leo Mehringer.

Funeral services for Cecelia F. Miller will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 12:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The Ireland St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center or to a favorite charity.
