Catherine (Kluemper) Lubbers, 94

Catherine (Kluemper) Lubbers, age 94 of Jasper passed away at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday (February 1, 2012) in the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born September 15, 1917 in Jasper to Thomas and Emma (Hopf) Giesler. She had two marriages. 1st marriage to Roman J. Kluemper on May 3, 1932 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, he preceded her in death on May 7, 1987. 2nd marriage to John R. Lubbers on October 31, 1993 in St. Henry Catholic Church at St. Henry, Indiana, he passed away on July 10, 2000. Catherine was a homemaker and member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper. She was a cook for many years at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper. She enjoyed quilting and her flower garden.

Also preceding her in death are two sons, John and Tom Kluemper. Four brothers, Lewis, Martin, Victor and Elmer (Thomas) Giesler. Sisters, Dorothy Mae Giesler who died in infancy and Hilda Kays, Roberta C. Sternberg, (Twin) Margaret Schmitt , Bernadine Mehringer.
Funeral services for Catherine Lubbers will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (February 4, 2012) in St. Mary Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ireland, Indiana. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday (February 3, 2012) at the Becher – Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
