Carolyn M. Vogel-Braunecker, 96, Jasper

Carolyn M. Vogel-Braunecker, 96, of Jasper, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Carolyn was born in Portersville, Indiana, on November 15, 1922, to Henry and Emma (Harder) Weber. She married Carl C. Vogel on December 14, 1940, and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1981. She then married Anthony Braunecker Sr. on September 14, 1985, and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1993. 

Carolyn was a homemaker and farmer. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her dog, Peppy.

She is survived by one son, Larry (Brenda) Vogel of Jasper; one daughter, Dollie (David) Weikert of Crystal; four stepdaughters, Beatrice (David) Recker of St. Anthony, Martha Miller of Jasper, Annette Schepers of Celestine, and Marlene (Larry) King of Huntingburg; two stepsons, Jerry (Sandy) Braunecker of Haysville and Kenny (Marla) Braunecker of St. Anthony; seven grandchildren, Lawrence Ward Jr., Loretta Hoffman, Mark and Tim Vogel, Chris and Ed Weikert, and Carolyn Telford; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Louise Cochran of Jasper; one brother, Lloyd “Hobart” Weber of Hazelwood, Mos.

Preceding her in death are one son, Roger Vogel; three stepsons, Kevin, Anthony Jr., and Donald Braunecker; two stepdaughters, Betty Jean Waninger and Virlee Gehlhausen; four brothers, Amos, Glen, John and Paul Weber; one sister, Margaret Vogel. 

A funeral service for Carolyn M. Vogel-Braunecker will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, with burial to follow in Haysville Community Cemetery. 

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
