Carolyn Louise Sanders, 83, Shoals

Carolyn L. (Frye) Sanders, 83, of Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Serenity Springs Senior Living at Northwood in Jasper.

She was born on February 17, 1941, in Rutherford Township, the daughter of Marion and Jane (Vice) Frye.

She married William “Bill” Sanders on September 1, 1957 at the Loogootee Christian Church and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2019.

Carolyn owned and operated Sanders Oil Company with her husband for many years.

She was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her son, Richard L. “Rick” (Angela) Sanders, of Shoals; granddaughter, Amanda (Fawad) Shams, of Shoals; great-grandsons, Eli and Abram Laiq, of Shoals; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Sanders; four sisters, Pauline Arvin, Eula Williams, Clara Buhr, and Mary Margaret in infancy; and one brother, George “Jack” Frye.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, with Pastor Keith Meece officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
