Carol Severson, 74, Santa Claus

Carol Severson, 74, of Santa Claus, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at her home.

Carol was born November 30, 1949, in Oak Park, Ill., to James and Elsie (McFedries) Severson.

She is survived by her sister, Georgia Rush of Santa Claus; nieces, Jennifer (Eric) Schmidt of Lamar and Carol (Brett) Hagedorn of Tell City; great nieces, Christina (Steven) Riggins of Arizona, Amber Schmidt and fiancé, Jelsyn Nunez-Castillo, of Kenosha, Wisc., Emily Hagedorn and fiancé, Zach Powers of Tell City; great-nephews, Eric Schmidt of Bloomington and Kyle Hagedorn of Tell City; great-great niece, Renlee Powers.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elsie Severson. 

Carol loved animals. She had a passion for helping animal rescue missions. Carol loved all of her animals dearly, especially her surviving golden doodle, Hershey and her cat, Spencer. 

Friends may call Friday, December 20, 2024, at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand from 3 to 7 p.m. CST. Burial will be at a later date in Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, Ill.
