Carol Rosalyn Crays, 89, Loogootee

Carol Rosalyn Crays, 89, of Loogootee, Ind., passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, surrounded by her family at Poplar Care Strategies in Loogootee.

Born on March 8, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of Robert and Vivian (Etienne) Little.

On June 22, 1957, she married Wesley Crays, and he preceded her in death in 2020.

Carol was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish. She enjoyed birdwatching and was very outgoing. It is said that she enjoyed speaking to many and never knew a stranger.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley; infant twins: Mary and Joseph Crays; one grandson, Eric Lee Crays; and several siblings.

She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her children,: Vivian (Marvin) Seitz, Debbie Crays, Russell Crays, and Nathanial (Rayann) Crays; siblings, Betty Gabbard, Paul (Leann) Little, Jimmy (Sandy) Little, Linda (Jim) Wenning, Monica (Dave) Steidinger and Dan (Christina) Little; grandchildren, Eric R. Crays and Cloe Crays; several nieces and nephews.

A private family visitation will be held at St. Martin Catholic Church in Loogootee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. The Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow at St. Martin Catholic Cemetery, Loogootee.
