Carol J. Matheis, 79

Carol J. Matheis, age 79, of Jasper passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Carol was born on February 22, 1934 in Jasper, Indiana to Theodore and Theresa (Arehart) Ernst. She married Robert E. Matheis on April 19, 1956 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on February 27, 2007.

She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and the Memorial Hospital Auxillary.

She worked for over 25 years as a secretary at Krapf-Bartley Insurance Agency, and she then worked for many years as a secretary at the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper. She was also a volunteer at Memorial Hospital.

She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was also a sports enthusiast; she enjoyed attending many sporting events.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, is one sister, Delores Flannagan.

Funeral services for Carol J. Matheis will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (August 7, 2013) at Precioius Blood Catholic Church with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time at the church on Wednesday.
