Carol J. Davis, 79

Carol J. Davis, 79, of Stendal, Indiana, passed away at 12:12 p.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

She was born January 4, 1935 on the family farm west of Huntingburg, Indiana, to Edgar “Pop” and Gladys “Granny” (Tormohlen) Rauscher.

Carol was a retired x-ray technician who worked at both Memorial and St. Joseph’s Hospitals. She was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church where she was active with the church’s youth camps and activities; and was an active participant in the Southwest Indiana Walk to Emmaus.

Carol was preceded in death by: her mother and father; and her husband, John T. Davis, who passed away October 9, 2003.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Mike) Wampler of Stendal; one son and daughter-in-law, John Charles (Jolene) Davis of Huntingburg; two brothers and two sister-in-laws, Gerald (Chris) Rauscher of Lake Wood, Colo. and Leon (Ruth) Rauscher of Huntingburg; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Carol J. Davis will be held at 1:00 p.m., EST on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Zoar United Methodist Church in Zoar, Indiana, with burial to follow in the Zoar Cemetery. The Reverend Keith Chanley will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday; and also at the Zoar United Methodist Church prior to the funeral service, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., on Saturday.
