Carol Ann Hopkins, 77, Santa Claus

Carol Ann Hopkins, 77, of Santa Claus, Ind., Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

Carol was born on January 28, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Palman and Elmira Lentz Calhoun.

She graduated from Fontana High School in Fontana, California and continued her education in a business school in Indiana. She retired from Kimball International in the marketing department after 23 years.

Upon retirement, she donated her time and expertise to many local organizations and libraries. She was an avid and voracious reader, a proud Democrat and adored her children and her precious kitty.

She will be missed by her family and everyone who knew her, especially kitty.

Carol is survived by her husband of 51 years, Melvin Rick Hopkins; children, Regina Johnsonbaugh, Wilbert Ernest Mayo the III, Sean Hopkins, and Crystal Hopkins; two grandchildren;  AJ and Cody Hopkins; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cal and Elmira Calhoun, and her brother, George Calhoun.

She will be cremated, and her ashes will spread into the Pacific Ocean in San Clemente, California.
